Zoo Animal Keeper – Small Captive Animals
A three-month immersive entry point into professional animal care. From 6AM to 6PM, you work directly with 150+ exotic species — learning behaviour observation, welfare protocols, nutrition, hygiene, enrichment, and daily husbandry under expert guidance. No prior degree needed. Just a 12th standard pass and genuine commitment. This isn't an introduction to animal care. It's the real thing from day one.
Course Curriculum
Foundations of Animal Care
Introduction to animal welfare principles, the Five Freedoms, species identification, and the daily rhythm of a working animal care facility.
Husbandry & Daily Care
Feeding routines, enclosure cleaning, hygiene protocols, health observation, and species-specific handling techniques across mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
Behaviour & Enrichment
Basics of animal behaviour, body language reading, enrichment design and implementation, and welfare monitoring.
Health, Safety & Professional Skills
Vital signs assessment, common ailment recognition, safe handling and restraint, record-keeping, and introduction to the Antz digital management platform.
